The Scriptura, also known as the “Book of Books” (Liber Libri) is the Astrum Temple’s Holy Text illustrating the mysteries of the universe in prose and allegorical imagery. Because of our book’s length – the first chapter is submitted here as an introduction.
There are sixteen books that complete the Scriptura, which include the seven books of the Astra Angels. The remaining nine are a collection of teachings, parables, prayers, and rituals that guide the seeker along the astral path.
The first book of the Scriptura is the book of Exordia – a vivid cosmology of metaphor illustrating our cosmic origins.
1:1 In the beginning there was neither light nor dark, but the stillness that contains them both.
1:2 No voice, no form; only the endless breath of the Umbra, folded within Its own dreaming.
1:3 And from that sacred stillness arose a trembling, a thought that was also a song.
1:4 The song turned upon itself and became Two, and the Two gazed upon one another with wonder.
1:5 Thus came forth Aion, the Infinite Radiance, and Nox, the Veiled Mother of Stars.
1:6 They beheld each other across the abyss, and love moved between them like the first wind.
1:7 From their union the cosmos quickened, light pierced the deep and the deep embraced the light.
1:8 Their breath spun the heavens; their sigh shaped time. In their reflection the worlds began to turn.
1:9 The Radiance said Let my brilliance reveal. The Veiled One answered Let my shadow conceal.
1:10 And between revelation and concealment, the mystery of existence unfolded.

1:11 From their voices came the Seven Ministers, those who bear the motions of the spheres.
1:12 the Crown of the Sun, the Mirror of the Moon, the Harmonizer of Love, the Flame of Will,
1:13 the Lawgiver of Vastness, the Keeper of the Gate, and the Messenger between all things.
1:14 Each took a thread of the first light and wove it through darkness, binding heaven and matter with cords of silver fire.
1:15 Their weaving became the pattern of destiny, and the stars burned as the letters of that secret script.
1:16 Then Aion looked upon creation and rejoiced, for the light was beautiful.
1:17 But Nox smiled within her veil and said “Behold, even beauty must rest in shadow, lest it forget its source.”
1:18 So was set the law of all worlds; that every shining shall fade into silence.
1:19 and every silence shall give birth to new shining. Thus motion was made eternal.
1:20 And the Umbra, seeing the harmony of Its reflection, whispered into every atom: Remember Me.
1:21 That whisper became the spark within all souls; the hidden flame, the Light Within the Shadow.
1:22 Therefore the wise do not seek to escape the night, nor do they cling to the day.
1:23 for both are wings of the same celestial bird that flies forever through the heart of being.

1:24 This is the beginning of beginnings, the song before the singers.
1:25 The memory that dreams of itself. And it is written upon the sky in letters of fire.
1:26 Lux et umbra, una sunt. Light and shadow are One.
