Sophia, the Holy Mediator: Wisdom and Love in Astrum Temple’s Cosmology

“The Moon, ever a bridge between the light of day and the darkness of night, teaches the virtue of mediation; a conduit between the conscious and unconscious realms, a balance within the self.”

Liber Lunae 5:3

The cosmology of our astral tetrathea, the Temple places the divine feminine back alongside the Father. The Holy Sophia, daughter of the ALL, holds considerable importance as the embodiment of wisdom. Sophia, whose name means “wisdom” in Greek, is a central figure in our faith’s dogma. She is upheld as the mediator between God and humanity.

Sophia is a cosmic counterpart, her gift of wisdom is in polar harmony with the caritas of Christ. She serves as the conduit between the divine and the terrestrial, illuminating a path to spiritual understanding and revelation. In the Gnostic traditions, her story of falling from grace and subsequent redemption is symbolic of the human journey towards love and acceptance.

Under the observance of the Astrum Temple, Sophia isn’t only associated with wisdom but also with love that underpins all knowledge. She manifests in the gentle allure of Venus, the profound mysteries of the Moon, and the enlightenment of Mercury.

Sophia is frequently celebrated in the Temple’s practices and rituals, often invoked for spiritual insight. Her teachings are deeply interwoven within the Scriptura, especially the Liber Lunae, Liber Veneris, and Liber Mercurii.

“Embrace the role of listener, as Mercury attends to the celestial murmurs and terrestrial cries. In listening, find the hidden depths, the unspoken yearnings that seek acknowledgment.”

Liber Mercurii 1:7

Through the grace of the Holy Sophia, the Astrum Temple emphasizes Her integral role of intuition, love, and wisdom in the spiritual journey, upholding Her as a guiding light towards understanding. It is she who whispers celestial secrets into the hearts of the faithful, awakening their souls to the cosmic harmony around.

The Blessed Virgin Mary

Within the teachings of the Temple, the Blessed Virgin Mary is venerated in a dual role – a celestial and terrestrial symbol. She is seen simultaneously as the supreme incarnation of the divine feminine and the mother of the Christ child, Jesus.

Her role aligns her with the Moon, one of the Astra Planeta. As the Moon reflects the light of the Sun, the Blessed Virgin Mary is seen as the mirror reflecting the light of the Christ, embodying spiritual intuition, compassion, receptivity, and the mysteries of the sacred feminine. Just as the Moon influences earthly tides, so does the Virgin Mother have a profound influence on the world.

The Virgin Mary can also associated with the Shekinah, the feminine aspect of God in Jewish Kabbalah. As Shekinah, Mary represents the presence and dwelling of God, illuminating the divine’s imminent aspect in the world.

“In your surroundings, seek to sow beauty; cultivate spaces that sing to the soul, that refresh the weary, and inspire the downtrodden – a sanctuary for all who come within.”

Liber Veneris 3:9

As the ultimate divine feminine manifestation, the Blessed Mother is celebrated with a monthly feast day called the “Lunar Mary,” occurring each full moon, a day also designated as Luna Sacra. In this observance, adherents meditate on her mysteries, pray for intercession, and honor her role as the Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Nevertheless, it must be emphasized that while the Astrum Temple venerates the Virgin Mary, she is not worshipped as a deity in her own right; she is the earthly incarnation of the Holy Sophia. She is revered as a pathway to the divine, in line with the faith’s emphasis on cosmic symbolism and mystical interpretation.

Prayers of Intercession

O Heavenly Awe

“O Cosmic Christ, O Holy Sophia, you who are in ALL, and ALL is in you.
Grant your light shine upon us, around us, above, below and within.

And as you have aligned our hearts, align our eyes to your wisdom.
So that we may be granted strength in love and humility.

Amen.”

The Lunar Mary

“Bless us, O Lunar Mary, Mother of the Sun of God.
Bestow your virtue and illumine our way, guide our actions, and console our hearts.
In reverent grace, we pray for your intercession, now and forever.
